Administrative / biographical background:

The first Unitarian chapel in Birkenhead was built in Charing Cross in 1851. A new chapel was built in Bessborough Road in 1903. This chapel closed in 1960, and the congregation moved to Clive Hall in Clive Road, which was formerly the chapel hall and which was licensed for worship in 1959.
