Administrative / biographical background: |
Building of the nonconformist chapel in Back Street, later King Edward Street, in Macclesfield began in 1689. It was not until the ministry of Rev. John Palmer, who was appointed in 1772 that it became a Unitarian Chapel. A group of seceders built Parsonage Street Chapel in 1806, but the two congregations re-united in 1887, and the Parsonage Street premises were sold in 1904. |
