Administrative / biographical background:

For a history of the Congregational Church in Northwich, see the 250th Anniversary Booklet, 1958, ref. ECC 1/24/12. Moulton Congregational Church, which was built in 1833, has always been closely connected with Northwich Church, and the main series of records for the latter relate to both churches. The church at Davenham (see the minutes of Moulton Church Meetings, ref. ECC1/1/25) was built in 1852, and was later used by the Primitive Methodists.
