Not much news, except he is still alive. Fighting is at a standstill. Men are "going down like sheep to be slaughtered in the trenches, not knowing when it will come to one's own turn to receive an ounce of lead for breakfast or about six pounds of iron from a shell in the stomach as a cure for cholera."
