Description: |
A series of ten outsize numbered volumes containing inrolments of inclosure awards and other documents deposited with the Clerk of the Peace under various Acts of Parliament, etc., 1769-1832. Each volume is inscribed "Inrollments" on the spine, with the exception of no.6. which has instead an original label ["Inrollments of Deeds etc."]. The arrangement of the contents is unsystematic and some volumes are concurrent. The following classes of documents are entered: Inclosure Awards. 1769-1847. 77 awards, etc., under parish inclosure Acts, they make up the great bulk of the contents of the volumes. Also included are several inclosures by agreement and grants with permission to inclose. Awards of earlier date than 1769 are inrolled in the Order Books [Q/SO]. For a detailed parish index to all the awards, etc., see catalogue of Inclosure Records [IR], vols. 1-10. Certificates of Exemption from serving as a Parish Officer 1771-1820. 19 items.
