Note on the boundaries of the division

 

In 1855, Wantage petty sessional division comprised the following parishes and places:

 

In 1946, when the Ilsley petty sessional division was abolished, the parishes of Chilton and Farnborough were transferred to Wantage division, along with the parishes of Chaddleworth and Fawley in the Newbury County Division.

 

On 1 April 1974, the division became Wantage petty sessional division in the new administrative county of Oxfordshire, except for the parishes of Chaddleworth, Farnborough and Fawley, which were transferred to the new Newbury petty sessional division in the new county of Berkshire.
