Title: Deeds and a will (Sir Charles's) of the Fettiplace family of Swinbrook, co. Oxon.
Description:

Relating to Swinbrook and Asthall co. Oxon., Highworth, co. Wilts and (in connection with the Gorges family, relatives of the Fettiplaces) to a share of the Monmouth estates including Llantarnam.

The genealogy of the Fettiplace family of Berkshire and Oxfordshire is complicated: for details see J.R. Dunlop, The Family of Fettiplace (1918) [copy in the Record Office library]. The documents listed here relate to the Fettiplaces of Childrey (Berks) and Swinbrook (Oxon.), who owned property in both those counties and in Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire and elsewhere. For related documents see the catalogue of the Fettiplace Papers (B.R.O. reference D/EFe). The last Fettiplace of this line died in 1806; the manor of Swinbrook was subsequently sold to Lord Redesdale (see D/EX 612/6).
