Upton Hospital occupied the building formerly used as the workhouse for Eton Union, and from 1930 as Slough Poor Law Institution. During the Second World War it was used as an emergency hospital for both soldiers and civilians. Records for the earlier use of the building are held at Buckinghamshire Record Office. In 1948 the hospital was established as part of the nascent National Health Service. |
