The postcard photographs, X 468/106-142, formerly belonged to Pelham Anderson and were presented to the Trust by his son David Anderson. Pelham Anderson was a sergeant in 'A' (Bedford) Squadron of the 2/1st Bedfordshire Yeomanry before transferring on commission to the 1/1st in France on 22nd February 1916. He was subsequently promoted lieutenant on 1st July 1917 and wounded at Serain on 8th October 1918

The memorial book (see X 468/144) shows that Read was in RHQ battery and died in captivity at Brencasi after the fall of Singapore. His next of kin was Mr. F J Read of 29, King Street, Houghton Regis.
