Administrative / biographical background:

The papers were in the cellar of 128 Cheltenham Road, Bristol (formerly Catherine Place) the home of the depositor's mother and grandmother, Clara Treasure, who was the wife of James Treasure, whose mother was Dinah Brain, wife of William Treasure. Dinah was the daughter of Samuel and Hester Brain, and it is to these families that the papers relate. The papers were taken from 128 Cheltenham Road to Crane Lodge by Lilian Mary Cannam (aunt of the depositor) when the house was sold.
