State Papers: Committee for Compounding with Delinquents, relating to Sir Edward Berkley of Pill, Somerset, dated 1646.

  1. S[i]r Edward Berkley of Pull al[ia]s Pill
  2. in the County of Som[m]ersett Kn[igh]t
  3. His Delinquency that he was in Armes against the Parliam[en]te and in
  4. Oxford at the tyme of the Surrender, and is to have the benefitt
  5. of these Articles, as by S[i]r Thomas Fairfax Certificate of the
  6. 24th of June 1646 doth appeare,
  7. He hath neither taken the negative oath nor Nat[i]onall Covenant but
  8. prayes to be spared therein, upon the said Articles, and the
  9. vote of the Howse of Com[m]ons pursuant.
  10. He compounds upon a perticuler delivered in under his hand by which he
  11. doth submitt to such Fine etc and by which it doth appeare.
  12. That he is seised of a Franckten[emen]te for life, the remainder to Edward
  13. Berkley his sonne and heire
  14. of and in certaine old rents parcell of the Mannours of Pull and
  15. Danniett in the County of Som[m]ersett, beinge togither of the
  16. yeerely value before theis troubles £20

  1. That he is seized of a like estate of and in the demeasne of the said
  2. Mannour of Pull, and of certaine Woods renneinge and encreasinge
  3. in the parish of Danniett, and of other Lands and Ten[emen]ts lyinge
  4. and beinge in Gillingham and Maperton in the said Countye
  5. all perticulerly ment[i]oned in the perticuler of his estate, and
  6. are togither of the yeerely value before theis troubles £300

  1. That he is seized of a Franckten[emen]te duringe three lives, of and in
  2. certaine Lands & ten[emen]ts lyinge in Wraxall in the said Countye
  3. of the yeerely value before theis troubles over and above
  4. the rent reserved £13 6 s 8 d
