Star Chamber: bill of complaint of Thomas Echard and Elyn his wife, from the reign of Henry VIII.

  1. In their moost humble wyse Shewith & Complayneth unto your excellent Maiestie your moost humble and obedyent Subiect[es] Thomas Echard of your Towne of Yermouth
  2. In your Countye of Norff and Elyn his wyff That where as your said Subiect[es] for the maynetena[u]nce of their poere Lyvyng occupyeth w[i]thin your said Towne of Yermouth a
  3. Brewe howse for bere by reason wherof oon Agnes owlett wydowe beyng A typler w[i]thin the same Towne and was Indettyd to yo[u]r said Subiect Thomas Echerd for bere
  4. whiche she had of hym in c[er]tayn money for the whiche your said Subiect Sent A mayde s[er]vante unto the said Agnes who cam to her howse and Demaunded the same money
  5. for your said Subiect in the p[re]sens of oon Robert ordlowe then Syttyng drynkyng w[i]thin the howse of the said Agnes who as it is Reported offeryd the said Mayde to
  6. drynke And she nat p[er]cyvyng What he ment but toke hede unto that she cam for made non Answere nor countena[u]nce to the said ordelow Wherupon he then threw
  7. the pott & bere therin at the mayd[es] hedd who then saide to the said ordelowe that she knew nat that he offeryd unto hir to drynke wherw[i]th she dep[ar]tyd & cam
