Description FreeHand, created by Altsys Corporation in 1988 and licensed to Aldus Corporation, is a discontinued vector graphic editor for Windows and Mac. Uses include professional illustration, desktop publishing and web content. FreeHand versions 1 though to 4 were released by Aldus, later versions were developed by Macromedia. In 2005 Adobe Systems acquired Macromedia but FreeHand development has been discontinued.
