Administrative history:
The parish of All Saints, Benhilton was created out of the parish of Sutton in 1863. The church, built in the Decorated style, was consecrated in March 1866 and with the site, parsonage house, schools and the endowment cost £24000 of which £18000 was contributed by Thomas Alcock of Kingswood.
The church premises were struck in June and July 1944 by flying bombs which destroyed the school buildings and the church hall and severely damaged the church and parsonage house. In August 1986 the church was damaged by fire after lightning struck the tower.
