Contents:
These records show the acquisition of a number of pieces of property in Stanbridge (then part of the civil parish of Leighton Buzzard) in the early 19th Century, by Frederick Willis, a Leighton Buzzard solicitor.
The property concerned was mainly open field land although he did acquire a piece of copyhold land from another member of his family, Charlotte Willis.
Although 5 transactions are actually involved, the deeds refer to 7 blocks of land, as in two of the transactions reference is made to property purchased from 2 previous owners - and the early deeds of these properties are included.
Therefore the listing plan has been to give each transaction a separate sub-number. Where 2 pieces of property are involved, further sub-numbers have been used.
