Administrative history:
A collection of files built up by the firms of Oatley & Lawrence, later Sir George Oatley, later Oatley and Brentnall. They were handed over to St Mary Redcliffe to join the Church archives by Proctor & Palmer, who took over the business of Oatley & Brentnall, but were not retained as Church Architects. Mr Alan Rome succeeded Mr E S Franklin of Oatley & Brentnall as Church Architect in 1986. The firm acted as architects to the church for most of the twentieth century, and the files relate principally to the fabric, to restoration work and war damage and to various contractors. They are arranged in date order by subject
